Mercure Penang Beach held a remarkable cocktail reception on 10th May 2023 to introduce its new resort manager, Gerard Chan, to the public. The event, attended by government stakeholders, industry players, media members, and hotel staff, was a great success. The cocktail reception took place at the hotel’s outdoor pool area, and guests were treated to light refreshments and drinks as they mingled with Chan and other hotel staff.
The newly appointed resort manager, Mr Gerard Chan, is an experienced professional with over 20 years of experience in South East Asia, Middle East & Indian Ocean. He is passionate about providing guests with an unforgettable and enjoyable experience, and he expressed his excitement to be joining the Mercure Penang Beach team.
During his speech, he expressed his deepest condolences on the recent passing of Food Influencer & Youtuber Hock Chai and rose a toast to him for his immense contribution to the industry and his legacy.
Chan emphasized the importance of working closely with the community and encouraged guests to connect with each other and share ideas that will shape the future of their businesses together. He also took the opportunity to present the Head of Departments of the hotel and gathered with Mr. Woo Hing Siang, Head of Operations Northern Region, for a group photo.
The event was concluded with a lucky draw, and six guests won dinner and room stays. The cocktail reception was a fantastic opportunity for guests to learn more about the new resort manager and his plans for the hotel. The event was well-received, and everyone enjoyed themselves.
